Hi guys! How are you all doing?
Earlier this year I made the decision to stop blogging and while I thoroughly enjoyed having so much free time for the first 2-3 weeks, I ultimately missed it too much. Blogging is something I have done for years and I think I was just feeling burnt out. In hindsight I should have just given myself a break and not been so quick to delete everything. But, after a few months of being away, blogging is something I truly miss and am happy to be back doing. I was able to keep my domain and gave the blog a little makeover! It feels right to be back and I’m so excited to be back creating content.
There isn’t really much new with me. I’m working from home with everything going on, which has been really nice. I feel very fortunate to still be able to work! But that’s really all that has changed. I have been taking this time to do more of the things I love like cooking and blogging while also trying to establish some healthier habits; which brings me to my no takeout challenge!
For the month of May Cole and I have decided that we won’t eat any takeout! While the pandemic has made us eat out less, we still have from time to time. We usually end up feeling sick after and disappointed in ourselves for spending money we didn’t need to. I like to cook, so ordering in comes down to pure laziness on my part. We ordered in for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago, which I think was justified, but it sent us into a downward spiral of ordering takeout. We knew it needed to stop, so I came up with this challenge.
If I’m honest, I don’t think we have ever gone a whole month without having takeout so it will be interesting to see how we feel when this is all over. I’m excited to try out some new restaurant-inspired recipes to keep things interesting and am looking forward to the extra money we will be saving!
Let me know in a comment down below if you are going to join us in the 31 day no takeout challenge. I’ll try to post lots of recipe inspiration on Instagram, so be sure to follow me there if you aren’t already!
