Drinking enough water has so many benefits for our bodies but is something I have struggled with a lot in the past. I have recently gotten a lot better about getting enough water, which is huge for me. In the past I used to go days without water and hated drinking it whereas now I’m almost always getting enough in! I have some up with some tips that have really been helping me and thought I would share them with you today.
Flavour Your Water
Sometimes midday I’m craving something with more flavour and can be tempted to grab something sugary to drink. By making flavoured water at home, I get the flavour I’m craving without all of the calories. My favourite combination right now is mint with lime but lemon makes another great choice! Not only does it look pretty, but it tastes good too.
Take Water with You
I am much more likely to drink water if I have it with me. By carrying a water bottle with me when leaving the house I’m not as tempted to stop for coffee and can keep upping my water intake no matter where I am.
I find tracking my water intake in my Fitbit app helps me visualize where I’m at with my daily goal and allows me to see how much further I have to go before I achieve it. I like Fitbit for a variety of things, but I’m sure there are lots of other apps to help log your water intake as well.
Don’t Allow Yourself Any Other Beverages Until You’ve Hit Your Daily Goal
With the exception of my morning coffee, I don’t allow myself to drink anything else besides water until I’ve reached my goal for the day. Often times I only end up drinking water, but I feel a lot less guilty having a lemonade if I know I’ve already had enough water for the day.
How do you make sure you get enough water in a day? I’d love to hear your tips down below!
